Step by Step

  1. Preparation: plan where the walk will take place prior to starting. The surface should be safe and flat. Make sure to be aware of the physical abilities and any restrictions of the senior.
  2. Pair up a senior and a child. The senior receives the list of object to look for on the walk. Together they carefully observe the environment, look for the mentioned objects and collect them in a bag or basket or observe them and tick the boxes. You can make your own lists, keeping in mind the available materials in your area. When you are on the walk, make sure that the group stick together and noone gets lost. If needed, there should be two or more mentors to make sure all goes according to plan.
  3. When you return from the walk, you can create something with the found objects (mandala, sculptures, exhibition) and you can talk about the found objects, comparing them with each other.
